Fall means a number of different things… The end of summer…. Pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks…. Cozy sweaters…. Curling up by the fireplace with a good book….
Fall also means the return of some of our favorite TV shows. I don’t know about you but whenever a season of my favorite show ends, I immediately look to see whether it has been renewed and what date it is set to premiere and then mark it on my calendar. Here are my top 5 shows returning for another highly anticipated season this fall:
- Once Upon A Time – Season 6 premieres on Sunday, September 25th on ABC
Once Upon A Time blends the actual world with the world of fantasy when an ordinary woman Emma Swan finds herself in the fictional town of Storybooke, Maine, brought back by the son she gave up 11 years prior. Her son, Henry, is convinced that she is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming and the only one who can break the curse enacted by the ruthless Evil Queen, Regina. The residents of Storybooke have no idea they used to live in the Enchanted Forest and it’s up to Emma to restore their memories.
2. The Vampire Diaries – Season 8 premieres on Friday, October 21st on The CW
When we last left our beloved characters at the end of Season 7, Damon and Enzo found themselves trapped and possessed by the mysterious force lurking in The Armory and it is up to Stefan, Caroline, Alaric and Bonnie to save them (and they definitely need Bonnie with her ability to track the two vampires now that she’s become The Huntress).
3. Criminal Minds – Season 12 premieres Wednesday, September 28th on CBS
Did anyone else cry when Agent Derek Morgan bid his team at the BAU farewell? I know I did. When we last left the BAU, our agents were not only dealing with the loss of Agent Morgan, but also with the escaped convicts, some of the most deadly serial killers the BAU has ever had the displeasure of hunting, including the notorious Mr. Scratch. Let’s hope come September the world is a safe place again.
4. Supernatural – Season 12 premieres Thursday, October 13th on The CW
When we last saw our infamous brother hunting duo, Sam and Dean had reunited God and his sister Amara, bringing about the end of what was to be the actual END. However, Sam thinks Dean has died when in reality, he appears to have been reunited with their mother, Mary, but is she real? What does this mean for Sam and Dean come season 12?
5. Hawaii Five-O – Season 7 premieres Friday, September 23rd on CBS
Season 7 is said to bring about changes for our beloved Five-O team. When we last saw them, Steve had been shot in an undercover operation and Danny voluntarily donated his kidney to save his life. Thank goodness! As we approach season 7, I’m curious as to what writers have planned for our beloved characters and will this be the last official season?
