Dania Ramirez: Devious Maids + Author In The Making

Dania Ramirez

Dania Ramirez has been keep our attention with her character Rosie Westmore on Devious Maids, but it is her own children who have given her inspiration.

Dania RamirezDania Ramirez has twins, Gaia Jissel and John Aether age two and, “They are finding their own personalities,” according to the Entourage actress. Dania spoke with People at the launch of Janie and Jack’s 2016 summer collection in Los Angeles. Ramirez said that, “They are getting to be a little more comfortable being in social settings because they have each other. They just want to be running around and dancing. That’s their favorite thing.” The Heroes actress said, “Gaia is actually very lady-like, very girly,” Dania continued, “But because she deals with Aether a lot she’s almost demanding. She knows that she has to really fight for what’s hers.” The Sopranos actress added, “Aether’s a little selfish. He wants everything for himself. Anything Gaia wants, he wants to grab right away, but it’s teaching them early on that they have to share and I don’t mind that.

At night, the busy mom has a nightly ritual of story time to keep her twins equal. The Quarantine actress stated, “They won’t listen to an entire story so I pick a page and then I start telling them the story and I’ll re-enact everything.” It is this nightly ritual that has inspired the Devious Maids mom to try her own creative writing. Dania stated, “I’ll make the sound really big and that’s why I think I’m getting into writing a children’s book next.” Ramirez went on to say, “I really enjoy everything and they are very cognizant of what I am saying, but they are into repeating the actions. So if there is a dog and I start barking, they bark back.”

I am sure Dania Ramirez will have plenty of material to use for a children’s book from her own twins to the children she works with on he set of Devious Maids. Dania sounds like she has her hands full at work and at home. Will you be watching Dania Ramirez on Devious Maids and buying her children’s book when it’s done?
