Nia Long

Nia Long has been entertaining us on the big-screen for over two decades and has kept her love life under wraps until now.

Nia LongThe three-time NAACP award winner Nia Long appears ageless. Nia usually keeps her personal life to herself, but since dating Ime Udoka, a former assistant coach of the San Antonio Spurs she has been in the media. It was last year that Nia Long, now 44 got engaged to Ime Udoka. The “Uncle Buck” TV mom has never been married before and was not in any rush to do so. When Nia filmed the Best Man Holiday, she talked about how much pressure is put on women to be married when you reach a certain age. It is a huge burden for many women to decide if they have to choose a career over family or if both are possible.

Nia who is a Mom of two said, “I think that women who are extremely driven to success and are ambitious get to a point in their lives where they’re like, ‘Uh oh. I am 30-something years old and I don’t have a husband and I don’t have children yet and what does that mean?’ I think what it means is stay in your course because it’s going to happen when it’s supposed to happen. It doesn’t happen for everyone at the same time; so you can’t compare your life to someone else’s.”

The “Are We Done Yet” actress, Nia wanted to stress the point of the act of “doing you” while your love falls into place. The Uncle Buck actress for the television series wants women to know how important it is to be aware of love and not to push away what may potentially be something wonderful. The Friday actress said, “You have to have an open heart to be vulnerable to accept it when it does come. I think the more success you have as a woman, you kinda go, Well, I don’t really need a man cause look: I have everything I want, but the truth is you do need a partner because at some point in your life you’re not going to want to walk alone.” Nia tells us to have an open heart to be vulnerable and accept love when it comes.
