Top Five Turmeric Benefits

Turmeric Benefits

There are many benefits to Tumeric, but the Top Five Turmeric Benefits are very helpful for the body and has medicinal healing properties.

It’s sometimes referred to as Indian Saffron, an earthy type of root that is ground into a powder which is orange. It is a spice that is very popular in the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Indian Saffron has a bit of a spicy bitter flavor, but can be used in foods and drinks. The following is a list of five turmeric benefits.

1 – The healing spice has many anti-inflammatory properties which are effective in reducing the inflammation of arthritis. It has been used in the treatment of arthritis, sports injuries, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease,  tendonitis and many types of autoimmune diseases. Many people use turmeric for headaches and the other benefit is that it does not damage the liver or kidneys.

2 – It has many antioxidant properties. This makes it great for fighting the cancer causing free radicals as well as decreasing and possibly preventing some of the damage it may cause. It is the antioxidants that fight against these free radicals making the turmeric cancer benefits valuable.

3 – UCLA performed a study that showed how it blocks enzymes that promote head and neck cancer from growing. In 2007, the International Journal of Cancer found that it is similar to a chemotherapy agent called oxaliplatin. Other evidence from animal studies and test tubes showed turmeric also known as curcumin, may also treat cancers such as breast, prostate, skin and colon.

4 – Regular use of curcumin (turmeric) has been found to lower your risk of diabetes. Studies found that people who had pre-diabetes were less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes if they took two capsules a day. That is fantastic as in the U.S. 8.3% of the population have diabetes.

5 – Turmeric is also beneficial for improving liver function. Our life is extremely important to our survival as it removes the toxins from our blood. It also aids in digestion by producing bile and converts food into energy. Liver damage can be fatal such as in cirrhosis, making this another valuable treatment.

The supplement benefits are worth a try as far as I am concerned. In fact, turmeric tea benefits us the same as turmeric powder benefits us. I actually like turmeric powder in tea with cinnamon. Do you thing you may try Indian Saffron for its benefits to our health?
