Trend We Love: Head-To-Toe Monochrome

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Wearing monochromatic (AKA head-to-toe in one color) clothing is a fashion trend we just can’t get enough of. Though most people choose to wear almost all one color from top to bottom, we love when everything is the same color. At the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, designers Donna Karan, Jenny Packham and Dennis Basso showed how to style the look. The Donna Karan model (above, left) wears a red dress paired with ballet-style, lace-up heels. Jenny Packham dressed her model (above, middle) in a sheer-silver dress with matching silver heels. Dennis Basso donned his model (above, right) in a gorgeous aquamarine dress and fur coat with matching suede boots. Love! And runway models aren’t the only ones sporting this one-color look.

Kim Kardashian pulls off the monochrome look flawlessly in a gorgeous golden dress and coat. The silk fabric of the dress pairs perfectly with her knee-length wool coat. Kim wears dark-gold strappy heels to round out this golden look. Oscar winner Lupito Nyong’o rocks the monochrome look by wearing a green patterned dress and mint-green heels. Her Manolo Blahnik heels are to die for! They’re such a good color on her and totally complement her Peter Pilotto mid-length dress. Still not convinced you can pull this look off?

Fashion bloggers have got you covered (ha!). Cupcakes and Cashmere blogger, Emily Schuman, shows how to wear all peach with a Michelle Mason Dress, Zara blazer and heels. Vanessa Jackman’s style blog shows Miroslava Duma rocking a stunning mustard-yellow blazer and trousers for a bright and stunning monochrome outfit. Though her bootleg pants are hiding her shoes, we’d think some yellow heels would make this outfit complete. What a bold power suit!

What’s your favorite monochrome outfit? Do these outfits inspire you to wear one hue?
