The ACM Awards’ Best and Worst Fashions

Academy of Country Music Awards

Country’s greatest stars infiltrated Las Vegas last night for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards — and most of them looked fabulous. There were some seriously-stunning gowns on the red carpet — and some not-so-fabulous looks to go with. Here are Her Daily’s best-dressed females… and those who fell short.

ACM’s Best of the Best:

24-year-old singer Taylor Swift (above, left) looked stunning last night in a J. Mendel ensemble. Her black and white crop-top and long skirt combo is chic and sexy. We love the cut-out detail in the crop top and the sexy thigh-high slit on the skirt. Taylor (who won Video of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care”) rocked wavy locks and a touch of lip color. She wins major points in the fashion category.

Miranda Lambert (above, middle) was a huge winner last night — and not just on the red carpet. The 30-year-old took home Female Vocalist of the Year, Single Record of the Year AND Song of the Year awards. Miranda also looked absolutely stunning wearing a Randi Rahm gold mermaid gown. The sparkle, gold jewels and her golden locks added to her gorgeous look.

Hello, retro! Carrie Underwood (above, right) channeled her inner flapper girl with this vintage-inspired Oscar de la Renta gown. The 31-year-old “Blown Away” singer vamped up her red carpet look with long, flowing curls and gorgeous David Yurman jewels. We love her nod at old Hollywood glamour — and her Vegas sparkle.

ACM’s Not-So-Hot Looks:

Shakira (above, left) can pull off almost anything, but this look is a miss for us. The 37-year-old rocked a Zuhair Murad gown. The teal color? Yes, please. The black detailing and raised cutouts, on the other hand, are not working. This dress looks like a giant butterfly — and not in a good way.

Raelynn (a former contestant on The Voice) is still new to the country scene — and unfortunately her dress did not live up to the ACM standards. Raelynn (above, middle) wore a short black-and-white frock with feather detailing and snakeskin lining. There are just too many things going on in this one dress.

Nashville Wives actress Sarah Davidson (above, right) hit the red carpet wearing a pink Elie Saab gown. We love the use of lace and the high slit, but we’re not fans of how sheer this gown is. The light pink color paired with the lace chest placement makes us question Sarah’s wardrobe choice — and the look shows off too much skin in the wrong places.

Who rocked your favorite ACM Award look?

Johnni is a Southern California native, TV addict and lover of all-things British (she might practice speaking with an accent in hopes it will stick someday). She’s a hippie at heart with a major watermelon obsession. Oh, and she can pull super-pretty photos at a moment’s notice, too.

I think T-Swift looked great! Not a fan of Raelynn, though.
